Ashtonishingly easy way for enhancing the contrast of an image |
|
This is an easy way to obtain a good contrast for your terragen images. Here to the left you can see our original Terragen-rendered image. |
1. Duplicate the base layer.
2. Select the new "copy" of this layer.
3. Choose as blend mode "strong light" or "soft light".
4. Now you only have to modify the opacity (reducing it; to increase you'll need to duplicate the layer again) if you are not satisfied with the result.

Soft light

Strong light

|
The problem with this is that the images are now a bit too saturated, but here we are going to work it out: |
5. The solution:
a) making a second copy of the "base layer ".
b) blending the first "base layer " and the first "copy", and name it "Caramba" just for making the difference with the other one.
f) Now this last one (Caramba = the most contrasted one) is to be put OVER the other one, and its blending mode has to be set as "luminosity".

Final image - strong light

Now you have a more contrasted image, without any oversaturation ! (and without struggling with those hard-to-master "curves adjustment tools") |
| All that is left is modifying this new layer's opacity.... |
